Swimming Classes

Swimming is an invaluable skill to learn. It is fantastic fun, great for health and could save your life. Thousands of babies attend swimming classes these days; I took my first daughter at eight months and have now signed up my second too, age six months. Being in and under the water at such a young age allows for confidence to build and no fear to evolve. Subsequently encouraging little ones to hold onto the edge of a pool and/or roll over to float on their back, gives them lifesaving abilities. The next step is to learn swimming strokes enabling them to move in the water and after this; it is just practice, practice, practice! Some will move on to a competitive stage which is wonderful if enthusiastic and a natural ability applies, but for most simply mastering the art of swimming is enough. The Welsh Government fund free swimming for children aged under 16 or adults over 60 at local authority pools, this is fantastic initiative and hopefully will one day roll out across the whole of the UK.
