Children can often feel nervous and even daunted, which is completely understandable. As a parent, it can be hard to know what to do or say to help.

Easy 2 Name - 014

Here are a few practical ideas on how parents and families can help children:

Give them these 6 Tips:

1.  Prepare all school things the night before so you don’t have to worry about organising themselves in the morning

2. Get a good night’s sleep – you could take a warm bath, have a milky drink before bed

3. Ensure that you have a good breakfast

4. Read the question before you attempt your answer

5. Attempt to answer all of the questions

6. In the morning, leave all of your worries behind you and ‘do your best!’

May Day 2015 http://www.easy2name.com/blog/may-day-2015/ http://www.easy2name.com/blog/may-day-2015/#comments Thu, 30 Apr 2015 14:49:57 +0000 http://www.easy2name.com/blog/?p=9547 The May Day is an ancient tradition and typically a bank holiday. Celebrations in England usually include May pole dancing and crowning a May Day Queen.

Our local village May Fair is this weekend and all of us at Easy2name are looking forward to it, in particular to the Bake Off competition. We have all had great successes in the past and we hope to do as well this year.  This year our very own panto Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood will be giving out the awards.

Another new tradition we have here is the ‘Build a Beast’ competition – whereby villagers build giant beast creations and display them in their hedges, gardens or prominent places in the village. It really creates a buzz locally and something interesting to look and chuckle at when passing through.

MEET THE TEAM MONDAY http://www.easy2name.com/blog/meet-the-team-monday/ http://www.easy2name.com/blog/meet-the-team-monday/#comments Mon, 27 Apr 2015 14:52:12 +0000 http://www.easy2name.com/blog/?p=9534 HollyMeet Holly, Fundraising Co-ordinator for Easy2name.

How long have you worked at Easy2name?

14 years! I started by cutting up strips of labels, back then we didn’t have the machines to do it for us.

What is your favourite Easy2name product and why?

I love the ballet bags. Asides from my part-time role as Fundraising Co-ordinator for Easy2name, I teach ballet across Berkshire and Wiltshire, so I loved it when our gorgeous bags were introduced to the range.

Who or what inspires you?

In the ballet world it would have to be Darcey Bussell. I have been lucky enough to meet her and even danced with her in the Olympics Closing Ceremony.

What 3 things would you take to a desert Island?

A private jet filled with all of my friends and family (is that cheating!?)

A selection of good books

A masseuse!

Ballet is still my main hobby,   even though it is now my job too. I know I am very lucky to have found a job that I love.

Favourite place to go to?

I love the sunshine so anywhere nice and hot. I am at my happiest on a sun-lounger with a good book and a mojito.

Favourite song

Beyonce – The entire ‘I Am Sasha Fierce’ album.

Favourite film

It’s too hard to choose, some of my favourites are:

Love Actually

(any chick flick)

Favourite Book

Although very dark, ‘Room’ by Emma Donoghue is a fantastic read.

Favourite recipe

I’m a very keen amateur baker and I love all of Mary Berry’s recipes. Whenever I bake her Sticky Toffee pudding it disappears very quickly.

How to travel stress free with children http://www.easy2name.com/blog/how-to-travel-stress-free-with-children/ http://www.easy2name.com/blog/how-to-travel-stress-free-with-children/#comments Fri, 17 Apr 2015 10:43:54 +0000 http://www.easy2name.com/blog/?p=9524 Holidays should be a time to rest and recuperate but travelling with children in tow can be pretty stressful.

Here are Easy2name’s top tips on how to organise yourself and reduce those stress levels. Easy 2 Name - 514

1. Label your children’s clothes, swimming/beach towels, rucksacks and beakers, especially if you will be using Kids’ Clubs – things will go missing! Do also look into getting ID Wristbands so you can label the children with your contact details.

2. Lost luggage is a nightmare. Luggage Straps will aid easy identification. Rather than filling one suitcase per person, pack a couple of daytime and evening outfits for everyone in each case so you can all get started while the airline track down the missing bag.

3. Add a small ‘emergency bag’ to your hand luggage, include plasters, tissues, paracetamols, cotton wool, safety pins, wet wipes and a few sweeties (for bribing and wiping away tears).

4. Pack spare clothes in your hand luggage just in case there are any accidents.

5. Always allow yourself to have plenty of time at the airport, especially having young children things usually take a lot longer than planned.

6. Check the latest restrictions on hand luggage before travelling. The more stringent regulations relate to carrying liquids, gels and creams, which includes baby foods, drinks and nappy cream. The standard instructions are not to carry over 100ml of any single item, although exceptions are usually made for essential medicines or supplies for children under two.

7. Travelling can be very boring indeed especially for children. Whatever form of travel you are using pack the kids their own backpack with all their favourite toys and games, i.e. books, guessing games, dolls and crayons. Many travel games can be played as competitions or just to pass the time and quite often appeal to all the family. Portable DVD players and iPod’s will keep your kids entertained for hours, may be worth investing in one! Don’t forget some headphones so the music or movie does not disturb the driver. And again label it all with Stickers, if it is left behind somewhere, it could then be reunited with you later on.

8. Children always become irritable when they are hungry. Make sure you bring plenty of travel friendly snacks, such as fruit, cereal bars and sandwiches.

Happy travelling!
